Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Kimball County Manor will celebrate 51 years of caring on Feb. 28 – and invites the community to join residents and staff for the festivities.
To join in, please RSVP to Shannon Monheiser by Feb. 21.
What a difference the past 51 years have made since the manor started with a small group of residents.
The manor first opened its doors on Feb. 12, 1968, with five residents. After years of financial trouble, the facility was purchased by Kimball County in January 1971.
Throughout the years and many remodels, building expansions and a skyrocketing number of new residents, them manor is full at capacity.
In August 2000, the assisted living expansion opened with 18 apartments, a new kitchen area, a laundry facility and a remodel of the west end that made it a 49-bed nursing facility and an 18-bed assisted living facility.
