Sugar Valley Rally team participants lined Chestnut Street, then enjoyed festivities at the Kimball Day Out celebration when they made their regular stop in town last June.
Get your engines ready and mark your calendars for the 31st annual Sugar Valley Rally.
The event, which will make a grand return to Kimball, this year will be held May 30 to June 2.
The registration deadline is May 10 for what some call one of the most enjoyable and challenging car rallies in the USA.
Complete applications, biographies, current rally car photos and apparel order forms must be submitted with payment to: Sugar Valley Rally, P.O. Box 214, Scottsbluff, NE 69363.

As in previous years, the Vintage Car Rally Association will be sanctioning the 2019 Sugar Valley Rally with age factoring utilized in the scoring.
Important Rally Dates
• April 12 - Early Bird registration deadline
• April 30 – (Or until full) Monument Inn & Suites reservations.
• May 10 - Rgistration deadline. Schedule of events, rules and regulations will be distributed
• May 17 – Last day for cancellations with full refund
• May 30 at 5:00 p.m. - Tech Inspection at Western Nebraska Community College Auto Tech Building.
If you are unable to make Tech Inspection, please contact the SVR coordinator at this phone number - 308-632-3381 - to make an appointment for inspection on Friday before the start of the Rally.
• May 31 to June 2 - Rally Time!
The revised Rules and Regulations of 2013 will be in effect. A copy of the Schedule of Events and the Rules and
Regulations will be distributed to all participants after registration is complete. Copies of these
documents and the application packet are available on the website at - sugarvalleyrally.com
• RALLY CAR & TEAM ELIGIBILITY –
o Authorized modifications are listed in the Rules and Regulations
o Cars 50 years or older (1969 and older) are permitted to compete for prize money in the
Limited or Unlimited Classes
o Cars newer than 50 years old (1970 and newer) are to compete in the Rock N’
Roll/Touring Class only
o Pro Class Requirements –
▪ Driver and/or Navigator have previously placed 1st Overall Winner of the SVR
▪ Driver and/or Navigator are at or above the Expert Division and/or a Gold Cup
Contender by the VCRA
▪ Teams can opt out only if they have not placed in the top five (5) of the Pro Class
for two (2) consecutive years
o All Rally Cars must carry liability insurance and be current on state vehicle
registration. Copies of both documents must be presented at Tech Inspection
o All Drivers must carry a valid driver’s license and will be asked to present said
document at Tech Inspection
The SVR Committee asks that you provide a new biography and photo with your entry
form. These items are important for our publications and announcements for the duration of
the event. Please take care in providing them as they are a vital part of providing entertainment
for our spectators and allow our staff and sponsors to become familiar with the Rally
participants.
Registration includes a light dinner at Tech Inspection, three lunches, snack at pit stops,
two tickets for the Saturday evening banquet, one commemorative door magnet, other
amenities and gifts as offered by event sponsors and donors. Most importantly, the opportunity
to make lasting memories with other rally fanatics while enjoying the beauty of the Wyo-Braska
area!
Participants wishing to utilize local lodging may wish to make reservations at our Host
Hotel, Monument Inn & Suites, 1130 M St, Gering, NE (308) 436-1950. There is a block of fifteen
rooms set aside for SVR (availability is first come, first serve) until April 30th. Be sure to mention
you are a Sugar Valley Rally attendee to get their special rate of $85/night!
Once again, Western Nebraska Community College will be offering garaging options at
their Auto Tech Building for $30 per car for the three nights of the event. Free RV parking is also
available on their lot (no hook-ups available).
Additional options of apparel, car numbers, and door sponsors are available for
purchase on the enclosed forms. Car numbers are available on a first come, first serve basis. All
cars not requesting a specific number will be assigned according to the order of registrations
received. Car numbers have no bearing on the order of start in the Rally. There are new options
for apparel, be sure to review the enclosed form. Some items are PRE-ORDER only and will not
be available for purchase at the time of the Rally.
