Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
The Kimball junior high tracksters took part in the Pine Bluffs Invitational this past Friday and turned in some good efforts.
No team scores were available, but both the boys and girls had some good individual efforts.
In the boys division, Uziel Flores won the shotput with a best mark of 39’6” and was 6th in the discus at 100’10”, both personal records.
Chris McCloskey won the pole vault at 9’6” and Caleb Schaeffer was 4th at 8’6” and James McGinnis 6th at 8’0”. Schaeffer was 2nd in the high jump at 5’0” and McCloskey 5th at 4’8”. Trey Schindler was 3rd in the long jump at 15’8.5”.
The 4 x100 relay team of Kosterman, Schaeffer, McGinnis, and Schindler ran 3rd in 53.54.
The sprint medley relay team consisting of legs of 100-100-200-400, made up of McGinnis, Rene Raymundo, Brandon Paxton, and Gage Schaeffer ran 7th and just one place out of the money with a time of 2:15.10.
In the girls division, Jayden Paxton won the long jump at 14’8”, was 5th in the high jump at 4’4”, and joined with Charlotte Hargreaves, Julia Winstrom, Emma Patterson to run 2nd in the 4 x 100 relay with a time of 59.01.
Julia Winstrom ran 4th in the 100 meter in 14.74. Aspyn Kiefer was 6th in the 400 meters in 1:16.17. Alyssa Paxton was 6th in the shotput at 25’10”5.
The sprint medley relay team of Jayden Paxton, Emma Patterson, Saigh Anderson, and Aspyn Kiefer ran 4th in 2:18.55.
Weather permitting, the junior high track team is to compete in the SPVA junior high meet today (Thursday), at Perkins County.
