Ed De Franco

Ed De Franco passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife Betty, on May 17, 2019. A Memorial will be held at a later date.

Ed was born on April 30th, 1942 in Akron, Ohio to Edward & Barbara De Franco. Ed developed a love for driving when he was 10, while sitting on his father lap steering a truck. Ed went on to become a over the road driver and recognized for driving over a million miles. During his 30 plus years driving he never had an accident; Family & safety was his main concern.

Ed met Betty, it was love at first sight, they married and settled in Kimball NE. Betty would enjoy riding cross country with Ed on his long hauls. Ed was a father figure to Alex, Lisa and several grandchildren.

Ed was a wonderful artist and created numerous works, paintings and intricate scroll saw displays, large and small with precise detail. And even won a gingerbread house contest with his work.

Ed was loved by family and friends alike, his dry sense of humor stood out to all. Ed also helped care for Marge, his step-mother who raised him from a young child after his own mother passed away when he was just 5.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, brother John, step-mother Marge, several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife Betty, his brother Joe, and sisters Lou and Sheila. Children, Alex (Leigh) Lisa, grandchildren Steia & Zach. An Aunt, nieces, nephews & extended family.
