Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Nearing the end of June already this year, locals are getting ready for the annual Potter Car-Bowl this Friday and Saturday, June 28 and 29.
Friday night will feature burgers and hotdogs at the Legion Hall at 6 p.m., followed by The History of Dating production at 7 p.m. hosted by Potter Melodrama and the Car-Bowl.
From 8:30 to 10 p.m., get your dancing shoes on at the Pivot Lending Stage for In The Groove Duo street concert .
Saturday is full of excitement, including a few new events, including a BBQ cook-off with proceeds distributed to Nebraska Flood victims, a beer garden and wine tasting from Nebraska vendors and a NBHA barrel race in conjunction with the car show.
The Potter Car Bowl Pinewood Derby registration and car building is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Car show registration, the craft fair and the WNCC Bowling Tournament is at 9 a.m at the Duckpin Bowling Alley.
At 11 a.m., the BBQ judging begins with sides, chicken and brisket tastings at the H&R Block tent at the volleyball court.
Ladies, get ready for the scavenger hunt to begin at 1 p.m.. at the library. From 2 to 6 p.m. next to the library the community will be able to enjoy Nebraska beer and wine tasting and live music through the night.
With many more events throughout the day, you are sure to have a fun time for the whole family.
More than 100 cars participated in the 2018 car show. With the hopes that Mother Nature will remain steady this year, another strong turnout is in sight.
