Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Jock Talk
The talk of the town and in places far and beyond, this past week was: Would Kimball’s Mike Daum get drafted in the NBA draft?
That didn’t happen, but all is not bad as Mike was signed by the Portland Trailblazers for their summer league play, which will run from July 5 through 15 in Vegas!
The summer league play is mostly for rookies and second year players, but now Mike has an opportunity to show what he can do and you can bet Mike will give it his best shot – and he is very good with his shots.
Not only does he have a chance at signing a contract with Portland, but other teams in the NBA will also be keeping an eye on his play in Vegas, and there is a very good chance he will end up with an NBA contract.
TeamMates
Golf Tourney
Not a lot of other news this week, other than the TeamMates golf tournament to be held this Saturday, June 29, at the Four Winds Golf Course. This format is a four-person scramble and the cost is just $60 per person, which gets you golf, a lunch before you tee off, and lots of flag prizes plus prizes for the top spots.
Registration and lunch begins at 11:30 down at the Trap Shoot building, and a shotgun start is set for 1 p.m. This is your chance to have a lot of fun on our wonderful Four Winds course and help a very worthwhile cause while you have fun!
Give the pro shop a call today to get your team entered, and if you don’t have a team the good folks in charge might find you a spot on a team.
Oh, and the weather is supposed to be nice and warm and also DRY! See you Saturday.
