Some golf being played and some golf being rained out!
The scheduled Glow Ball/Cross Country Scramble got cancelled this past Saturday evening because of weather and weather forecasts, but other events went on as scheduled and there are more coming up.

The Four Winds Men held a Fun Nigh Scramble this past week with 7 four man teams participating. The winning team won by score card playoff after two teams tied for the best score.
The champions were the team of Bill Hinton, Steve Pattison, Terry Lovesee, and Klent Schnell. The runner-up team was Tom O’Brien, Trevan Hinton, Roger Dohse, and Jacob Walker.
Third place went to Dillon Wise, Jim Zitec, Barry Frederick and Mike Winstrom, who also won by score card playoff over the team of Jared Zitec, Jeremy Williams, Henderson Bryson and John Fiehtner. Fifth place went to Chris Zitec, Bob Culek, Brett Belgum and Dennis Deboodt.

The Panhandle Senior Men also played the Four Winds Course in Kimball this past week and three of our local golfers took part in this event.
There were 11 golfers in the 70 and over age division and 20 in the 50-69 age group. Keith Staehr shot a gross round of 90 and net 74 in the old division. Kevin Thomas took 2nd place in the gross-net division for the younger division with his round of 72/66. Tom O’Brien was 2nd with his low net of 81/68.

Kimball and the Four Winds Golf Course will be invaded this weekend by men golfers from all over the country as they return to play in the 10th annual Vince’s Corner Golf Tournament.
Henry Heeg, the man in charge, closes the entry number at 128 golfers who will make up the 32 four person teams of the two day events to be held Saturday and Sunday.
Tee-off on Saturday is set for 12 noon and on Sunday they will go off at 9:30 a.m. Anyone wanting to play open golf is reminded to call for a tee time.

Another of the Four Winds larger tournaments coming up soon is the Kimball Hospital Foundation set for August 3. This is a also a 4 person scramble with lunch and registration set for 11 a.m. and a shotgun start at 12 noon.
Your $80 entry fee gets you golf on our wonderful course, a Callaway custom Foundation Golf Classic polo shirt for each player, lunch and a buffet supper at the Wind Break Restaurant, a putting contest for cash prizes along with numerous raffle and flag prizes. All money raised from this fun event will be used to help purchase a new nurse call system for the patients at the Kimball Health Services. Get your team signed up today.
