Area residents will have a special opportunity to hear major organ repertoire performed by Nathaniel Mars in an organ recital at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 601 S. Locust St. in Kimball, on Sunday, July 21 at 3 p.m.

Fellow student Ethan Bemis will accompany several selections on trumpet.

Nathaniel is the son Rev. Kenneth and Vickie Mars. He attended Kimball Public Schools before beginning home school in second grade and has graduated high school as part of the first graduating class from Memoria Press Diploma Program.

He will attend Concordia University – Nebraska this fall on scholarships to pursue a degree in Church Music, with organ as his principal instrument, and Pre-Seminary Studies.

His teacher, Patricia (Randolph) Fletcher, holds the M.M. from Eastman School of Music.

many years of performing and teaching in colleges and universities, she has “retired” to teach students from Kimball, Sidney, Potter, Dix and Pine Bluffs many hours per week. Her students have performed all over the world and many are currently teaching in colleges and universities while others are presently majoring in music.

The public is invited to attend this outstanding recital with free admission.
