Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
The Kimball Longhorns volleyball team netted a victorious triangular meet against Bayard and Potter-Dix, topping each opponent in two sets, and lost in four sets to Morrill in recent action on the court.
Potter-Dix and Bayard ventured to Longhorn Nation on Oct. 8, with Kimball winning 25-19 in each set over the Coyotes and beating the Tigers 25-21 and 26-24.
Longhorn stats against Bayard:
Jenna Greenwood 5 kills and 3 blocks; Nicole Delaplane 5 kills; Sydney Biesecker 3 kills, 3 pts and 5 digs; Amy Birkhofer 4 pts, 1 kill and 2 blocks; Bailie Brower 3 pts, 1 ace and 2 kills; Megan Spicer 10 set assist; Brooklin Golding 6 pts and 2 aces; and Sierra Rutledge 3 digs.
Longhorn stats against Potter-Dix:
Greenwood 5 kills, 4 pts and 1 block; Biesecker 3 pts, 2 kills and 3 digs; Delaplane 2 kills and 1 block; Birkhofer3 kills and 2 digs; Brower 7 pts and 2 aces; Golding 4 pts; Spicer 7 set assist; and Rutlege 4 digs.
In the home contest against Morrill on Oct. 11, Kimball lost in four sets: 19-25, 25-23, 15-25 and 19-25.

Kimball vs. Chase County
On Tuesday, Oct. 15, Kimball traveled to Chase County and lost 25-13 in each of two sets. Stats from that game will appear in next week's Observer.
The Longhorns visit Grant for the SPVA Conference Tournament on Oct. 19. Subdistricts are the week of Oct. 29 and State is Nov. 7-9.
