Date Set For Santa Breakfast In Banner County

But Before That, Lots Of Thanksgiving Doings

Good morning Banner County! I see corn harvest is still under way for some of us, finished for others. Spring weather out here today, breezy and mild. And we are toward the end of November and looking toward Thanksgiving!

I hope this great weather holds out for a while longer because it will make life much easier for the things we have coming up here in the near future. Snow Christmas Eve will be soon enough!

Today, November 22, the junior high wrestling team will have meets at Morrill beginning at 9 a.m. and the junior high girls basketball  game vs. Scottsbluff has been rescheduled until December 9. Good luck to each and all of you, and safe travel.

A heads-up here: The Santa Breakfast date is December 7. More info later!

We are sorry to hear of the passing away of long time resident Sylvia Soule (see her obituary on Page A6). John Cross moved to Banner County in 1910 and Sylvia was the youngest daughter of his eight children, all born and raised in Banner County. Our sympathy goes out to the family.

Celebrating another birthday this week are: Marianne Holt, Ayden Vrtatko, Gary Talkington, T.J. Marler, Sheyenne Elsen, Zac Carlson, DJ Griffiths, Owen Talkington, Shane Cochran, Bill Gifford, Genie Evans, and Trevor Parsons. Happy Happy Birthday!

Anniversary congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Ken Boston and Jim Wyatt.

Just a reminder: Story time for preschoolers is at both Gering & Scottsbluff today, Thursday at 10:00 a.m. And again at the Scottsbluff Lied Library location at 6:15 p.m.

According to the calendar, the Gering Public Library will have Toddler Read & Romp on the 27th  at 10 a.m. and Lego Club at 3 p.m. with preschool on Thursday at 10 a.m.,which is Thanksgiving Day. Might want to check that one out before driving over.
