Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Pretty Slow In Banner

Here we are, January, 2, 2020. Only thing better will be 2-2-2020, haha. Time sure is flying!

So, did you make a New Year’s resolution? I kinda sorta did. Since time seems to be flying by, I don’t see the point in making that diet resolution, so that is my resolution.

Anyway. Happy New Year and here we go.

No weddings or graduations in store so far, and I feel calmer already.

The kids are back in school after Christmas break and that helps, too, although the only thing going on this first week back is two MatCat meets. One is Saturday, Jan. 4, at Mitchell and the other on Sunday, Jan. 5, in Kimball. This group of wrestlers is the young guys, still in elementary grades.

Over-the-hill things are pretty slow this week. Giving us the chance to slow down for a bit and re-group if necessary.

The Gering Public Library will be the place for the Toddler Read & Romp Story and Playtime on Wednesday, January 8, from 10-11 a.m. and for the Lego Club from 3-4 p.m.

The Western  Nebraska Arts Center has a new exhibit, “Artist of The Black Hills,” on display. Exhibits are free and open to the public, and the center is open Tuesday through Sunday.

The anniversary couple first off this New Year is Mr. & Mrs. Jacob Knaub. Congratulations!

Birthdays this first week of the New Year are Spencer Lease, Bethany Frayser, Royce Ammon, Brady Lind, Arielle Whelchel and Charles Cooper, Ryan Frayser. Happy Happy Birthday!

Well folks, that is it for now. I have no doubt that our lives will get busier, so enjoy this time of snow diamonds and hot chocolate. Take care until next time.
