Banner County Notes: Slowly But Surely, We're Getting There

Cafe In Dix Bring Back A Lot Of Memories

Good morning everyone! I hope this finds you all in good health and looking forward to the warm months ahead.

Here at home things are starting to open up somewhat, the church and bank at least. I have had no reason to go to the courthouse so do not know about them, and of course, school has been off limits and will be for some time yet.

School is definitely out for the summer! yeah!!

Tomorrow, Friday May 29th, the Church of Christ will host another grab-n-go meal beginning at 5:30 p.m. I think walking tacos were on the menu. They are located at 1919 Avenue N in Scottsbluff.

Scottsbluff recycling plans on resuming operations on June 8th and the Summer Reading Program will begin in Alliance on the 1st of June. Slowly but surely we are getting there.

Memorial Day was okay this year, better than I thought maybe it would be. It was so nice to see all of the flags and flowers. Nice to see that people were not forced to stay at home.

We traveled to Dix and Kimball one evening last week and both cemeteries looked really nice.

We were in Kimball first and so stopped at the local cafe in Dix for supper on our way back home. Man, do I have a lot of memories of that place.

From being in high school and turning glasses of water upside down to working there one summer years later. The place has changed, but parts of it are still exactly the same.

We took the long way home, seeing some deer and lots of fields beginning to turn green. Made me think of this quote: “Doing nothing is hard. You never know when you’re done.” Some sure truth there.

Birthdays here this week include: Mical Cooper, Jana Mount, Eleanor Schmidt, Robert Olsen and Issac Olsen. Happy Happy Birthday!

Couples celebrating an anniversary are Mr. & Mrs. Larry Hopkins, Jerry Morris, Chet Cochran, Roy Lyles, and Jeff Jackson. Congratulations!

Well, until next time take care. Call me at 436-7152 if you have news.
