Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
According to the Nebraska State Patrol, the wind on Saturday caused some major traffic accidents in the area.
In a single vehicle accident on Interstate 80, the driver was trying to avoid some debris on the road, but ended up striking the debris.
At mile mark 8, the driver lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle rolled. The Nebraska State Patrol said a fatality occurred in this rollover as the passenger was ejected from the vehicle.
Another accident Saturday happened at mile marker 27 on Interstate 80. A pickup towing a camper was westbound and hit a severe crosswind. The vehicle rolled, blocking both lanes, but there were no injuries.
Meanwhile, on Monday evening at 6:00 p.m, a motorcycle collided with a semi on the westbound side of Interstate 80. According to the Nebraska State Patrol, the accident was a double fatality.
The State Patrol told the Observer on Tuesday morning that it was unable to release names yet of those involved in the accidents.
