Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
The city of Kimball has announced that the grant and loan program that has helped jump-start a string of ambitious business projects in recent months, such as those at the Sagebrush and Longhorn Building for starters, is temporaritly on hold.
Here’s the city’s release that annnounced the news to area businesses:
“As of August 12, 2020, all LB840 grants (New Business Assistance, Business Facade Improvement, Business Infrastructure Improvement, Property Improvement, and Internship) and loans administered and distributed by the City of Kimball will be placed hold until Fiscal Year 2020-2021 (October 1, 2020).
“This pause in grant and loan approvals is due to budgetary reasons. The Economic Development Department will still be accepting applications for grants and loans for FY 20-21.
“Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
