Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Potter-Dix’s Coyote football team improved to 2-0 on the young season with an impressive 61-32 road win against the Sioux County Warriors. Sioux County started the game with a good drive highlighted by two fourth down conversions and grabbed an early six point lead.
Potter-Dix fired back with a score of its own and then another in the beginning of the second quarter to go up 12-6, and then scored a few minutes later to extend their lead to 19-6.
Sioux County was able to narrow the gap with a short touchdown run after a drive to narrow the score to 19-12, but Potter-Dix put together an effective drive in the closing minutes of the first half and scored again, going into the intermission up 25-12.
Any chance of a Warrior comeback was quickly quashed as Potter-Dix’s offense went on to score four touchdowns in the third quarter, opening up a 53-12 lead to start the fourth quarter. Sioux County scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter, but the Coyotes easily kept pace and scored two more of their own, ending the game with the lopsided 61-32 final score.
The Coyotes’ next game is on Sept. 18, when they host the Crawford Rams in Potter.
