Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Sutherland’s Lady Sailors traveled to Kimball last Thursday and swept the Lady Longhorns three sets to none in a match that had a close first set, then was taken over by visitors.
Sutherland came into the match with only two wins, and seemed to be an opponent that the Lady Longhorns could have success against. But after the first set was dropped 25-to-19, the Lady Longhorns could not regroup and dropped the next two sets 25-to-5 and 25-to-11.
Kimball has struggled to put together a complete set this season, with scoring runs stopped by miscues and leads lost due to unforced errors and communication problems.
It doesn’t get any easier for the Lady Longhorns as they were scheduled to next face a tough Hershey team followed by a home contest on Thursday against Hay Springs.
