Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Potter-Dix's Lady Coyote Volleyball team has had success so far in the season, but went through a difficult week, losing four of five matches, with the last two losses coming at a home tournament on Saturday.
The week started well for the Lady Coyotes, as they were able to sweep the Wallace Lady Wildcats in two sets, 25-to-18 and 25-to-23. Junior Kendal Nielsen led the attack for Potter-Dix with six kills and a service ace, but the girls could not keep the momentum going and fell in straight sets to a tough Wauneta-Palisade's team 25-to-16 and 25-to-16.
The Lady Coyotes next hosted Arthur County on Friday night, and a tough and tight match didn't go their way, as they came away with one set victory in the 3-to-1 match loss. Potter-Dix was busy the next day, hosting a Triangular in Potter. After dropping their first set to Morrill 25-to-23, Potter-Dix regrouped and took the next set in convincing fashion, 25-to-13. But the Morrill squad proved to be too strong, and regrouped to take the final set 25-to-17 for the 2-to-1 match victory. Potter-Dix hoped to end the day on a positive note, but a strong Perkins County squad made short work of the Lady Coyotes, winning in straight sets 25-to-14, 25-to-14. The losses dropped the Lady Coyotes to 6-and-9 on the season, and they were next scheduled to travel to South Platte on Tuesday.
