Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Nebraska’s Governor Pete Ricketts has updated the directed health measures that will be effective from Oct. 21 to Nov. 30 in response to the increase in COVID-19 cases in Nebraska.
In addition, the governor has also initiated a new campaign to stay safe from COVID-19: “Avoid the Three C’s.”
The “Avoid the Three C’s” campaign is intended to slow the spread of the virus. The campaign includes avoiding crowded places, avoiding close contact and finally avoiding confined spaces.
The governor’s new directed health measure will focus on elective procedures, hospital capacities, bars, restaurants and gatherings.
Elective procedures are still allowed but the hospitals must follow and meet some additional COVID-19 availability guidelines.
Patrons in bars and restaurants are required to be seated unless using a restroom, placing an order or playing a game. Those businesses will continue at 100% occupancy.
Only eight individuals in a party can be seated together, and others will need to be split into multiple tables.
The directed health measure includes restrictions on indoor and outdoor gatherings as well as limits on funerals and weddings.
