Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Christmas in Kimball 2020 activities begin Thanksgiving week, kicking off the local holiday season.
This year's theme is “Believe in the Magic of Christmas.”
Like just about everything else this year, COVID left its mark on the planning. For one thing, Santa won't be taking part in these activities in the name of safety.
“We've worked real hard to come up with ideas to keep our community safe and for people not to have close contact, and hopefully this will provide Kimball with some Christmas spirit,” Sharon Williams of the Santa's Helpers group told the Observer.
Activities begin Thanksgiving week with Kimball Public Schools distributing Coloring Snowflake Contest entry sheets to students. Entries can be returned to Kimball Bakery from 7 a.m. to noon Nov. 24 to Dec. 9 for a special treat.
