Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Good morning Banner County, neighbors near and far. Here we are in December, and I am wondering after spending months and months and many holiday celebrations in very uncustomary ways how many December customs will be altered or cancelled.
Christmas is at our doorstep!
There will be changes and restrictions I am pretty sure. But if we look at what we have in our lives we will have more than if we look at what we don’t have in our lives and never have enough. I am trying really hard to remember that as we finish this year.
Here is what is happening at our school, which thankfully is still running as usual.
The high school wrestling team will compete in Hemmingford at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 3rd. Tonight! And then they will travel to Mullen on Saturday, December, 5th, for competition at 9:30 a.m.
The high school JV boys basketball team will host Mitchell here at home on Monday, December 7th at 4 p.m, and on Wednesday, December 9th the junior high boys basketball team will travel to compete with Potter-Dix, and game time will be at 2 p.m.
Good luck to all of you and safe travel.
Here is another example of how we are coping with COVID-19. The FFA students will have District LDE’s virtually, also on December 9th. On the bright side of the “virtual” part, no travel and safe.
Banner County School is partnering with WNCC to provide an OSHA course at the school over a period of three weeks with the first session on Friday, December 4th. If you need more information please call them at 436-5262.
Over the hill and at the SkyView Drive-In in Scottsbluff they will be showing the movie “The Star” on Friday, December 4th. The movie will begin at 7:30 p.m. and the gates do open 45 minutes prior to that time.
The 2020 Bach’s Lunch Dinner will be held at noon in the Western Arts Center gallery on Monday, December 7th. They will have a baked potato bar and a “secret box treat.” Come and enjoy the current gallery exhibit, food and entertainment!
Speaking of entertainment, The Frontier Chorale and the Take 6 Drama Team from Frontier School of the Bible gave great performances at the Harrisburg Community Church recently and we once again thank them and appreciate their time and willingness to travel here.
Birthdays here this week include: David Griffiths, Tanner Groves, Jaron Anderson, Pam Olsen, Trey Mosby, Stan McKNight, Gary Beals, Grace Wyatt, Scott Delcamp and Marie Hein. Happy Happy Birthday!
Anniversary congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Mark Knaub, Justin Stauffer and Joel Cross.
Well folks that is all for now. Have a great week and take care until next time.
Barb Cross is at 436-7152.
