This has sure been one bummer of a year. Still we have a lot to be thankful for. Just watch the news and you soon remember that if you chance to forget.

Locally the Christmas carolers re-scheduled last Sunday due to that cold nasty wind. They made their rounds Monday evening and then enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies afterwards, night of the first appearance of the “Christmas Star.” There are Christmas Eve services at the Harrisburg Community Church at 6 p.m and everyone is encouraged and invited to attend.
Long time Banner County resident Monty Hopkins passed away recently. We extend our sympathy to his family and know that he will be missed by many.
Birthdays here include: Julie Cochran, Sharon Lease, Dwayne Muhr, Jordan Farro, Corey Lind, Kevin Soule and Quincy Boetcher. Happy Happy Birthday!
Anniversary congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Bob Cooper and Tom Wayman.
Here are my final thoughts for Christmas, a poem by John P Read: Christmas Day; Across a white December night, Each home is filled with candle light. The moon shines brightly in a golden sky. Stars are twinkling way up high. The cool, still air, a glistening frost, Smoking chimneys on white rooftops. The Christmas tree, the mistletoe, Christmas carols, our loved ones home. Christmas is a time for merriment and cheer. It’s also a time to thank God we’re here. So when we wake on a bright Christmas morn, Remember the reason we celebrate. It’s the day our Saviour was born.”
Merry Christmas! Until next time, take care and stay safe.
