Anderson-Faden, the first woman to serve as a county commissioner, is stepping down after more than five years on the board.
She was presented with a plaque and coaster set featuring the county seal, among other gifts.
Commissioner-elect Carl Stander will be sworn into office Jan. 7 and fill the seat that she held.
She plans to continue writing for the Observer.
