Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Good morning Banner County, friends near and far. Our beautiful weather has been great, but we sure do need some moisture, right?
However, for our students traveling for sports or other school competitions, it has been especially nice. As usual, they are on the move.
This evening, Thursday, January 14, there will be the monthly meeting at the Harrisburg Community Church. The time is 6 p.m. and it is open to everyone.
Friday the 15th the junior varsity boys basketball team will be headed to Garden County and game time is at 5 p.m.
Saturday, January 16, the high school wrestlers will be going to Chase County and the speech team will have their first competitions of the season in Scottsbluff/Gering. If you need times for either of these two, please call the school at 436-5262.
There is also a Central Banner 4-H meeting on Sunday. Same number for more information here also.
I am assuming that it is at the school.
Monday the 18th is Martin Luther King Day and mail service and most city offices will be closed, as well as many schools. We have school as usual, however, and a tentative junior varsity girls basketball game has been scheduled with Hemingford. Here again please call for conformation on this one.
On Wednesday, January 20, the junior high boys basketball team will finish the week by heading to Garden County, and game time is 2 p.m. Busy week! Safe travel and good luck to all of you.
Happy Happy Birthday to: Brogan Cross, Perry McNees, Luke Olsen, Michelle Lind, Haddy Grubbs, Savannah Jordan, Wilma Post, Whittni Boetcher, Riley Jones and Barb Cross. Anniversary congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Travis Cochran.
Over the hill, on Friday the 15th if you eat at the Scottsbluff Runza, 10% of your sales will be donated to the local DOVES program.
The 20th will be the beginning of what is yet to come. Here is a quote by Roy T. Bennett: “More smiling, less worrying. More compassion, less judgement. More blessed, less stressed. More love, less hate.”
All for now as cancellations are still happening.
Take care until next time and stay safe.
Barb Cross is at 436-7152.
