Ronald 'Larry' Allmer

Ronald "Larry" Allmer, 75, of Bushnell, died at his home in Bushnell on Sunday, January 17, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Pastor Roger Gillming officiating. Burial will be in the Bushnell Cemetery. Memorials may be given in Larry's memory to the family. The services for Larry have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Ronald Larry Allmer was born in Brighton, Colorado, on June 18, 1945, the son of Edward and Molly (Gillman) Allmer. He moved with his family to Wiggins, Colorado, and received his education there. After completing school he worked on the family farm and did custom farming with his brothers. He also worked in the salvage business and was a machinery mechanic for a number of years.

Larry was married to Kathy Smock in Grover, Colorado, on August 4, 1989. Larry and Kathy moved to Arizona in 2005. He worked for the YMCA Ranch. They loved living in Arizona and enjoyed the warm weather. He retired in 2005 and moved to Bushnell. Larry continued to work on a part-time basis doing small jobs for many people in the area.

He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and any yard work. He would can a lot of the produce that he raised in his garden. He enjoyed fishing and camping and could be found at the lake during most of the summer. He enjoyed traveling to visit family. He also loved animals, especially his mini Australian Shepherd, Miss Cuddles, and his Pomeranian Bear. Larry will be missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years Kathy Allmer of Bushnell, NE; sons Todd (Sheila) Huggans of Greeley, CO., and Rick (Janet) Genz of Richmond, IN; daughter Jeanine (Felicia) Kia of Eastern Nebraska; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.
