3 Longhorns Qualify For District

Wrestlers McGinnis, Cluff, Schindler Trying To Qualify For State

The Kimball Longhorns wrestling team traveled on Saturday to Maxwell to compete in the Class D Sub-District 4A tournament – and qualified three wrestlers to compete at the District Championships next week.

Their mission there is to earn a spot at the NSAA State Tournament.

Kimball’s trio includes:

• Sophomore James McGinnis, who placed second in the 126 pound bracket.

• Senior Connor Cluff, who placed second in the 132 pound bracket.

• Sophomore Trey Schindler, who placed second in the 145 pound bracket.

All three qualified for the Class D District 4 Championships in Sutherland this Saturday, Feb. 13.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the wrestlers forego dual competitions in favor of individual competitions and have to go through Sub-District tournaments prior to District tournaments to qualify for the State Tournament.
