Patsy L. Kasten

Patsy Lou Kasten, age 89, of Potter, NE passed away in Sidney on Tuesday, February, 9, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 18, 2021 in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Potter, NE with Reverend Ted Bourret officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Potter. Services will be recorded and available on our website for viewing. Cremation has been held. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Wednesday from 1-6:00 P.M. with family present from 4-6:00 P.M. to sign Pat's register book and leave condolences for the family. The family has designated memorials to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Potter Fire & Rescue.

Pat was born on October 15, 1931 in Kimball, NE to Dr. John J. Fiegenschuh and Naomi M. (Wilkinson) Fiegenschuh. She was a lifetime resident of Potter, NE except for one year in Uniontown, MO. She was baptized at St. Hilda's Episcopal Church in Kimball, NE in 1948, confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Potter, NE on December 25, 1949 and re-confirmed at the Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown, MO in December of 1950. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Potter, NE since 1959.

She married Leonard W. Kasten on September 23, 1950 at the First Lutheran Church in Potter.

They lived in Missouri for one year following their marriage and then moved back to Nebraska and lived on the farm until 1975 when they moved into Potter. In 1976 they built a grocery store and sold it in 1996. Pat worked at the rest home in Kimball and drove mail route while on the farm. She taught Sunday school, weekday school and V.B.S. She was also a member of LWML for many years.

Pat is survived by three sons: Michael and wife Kathie of Brighton, CO, Jeffrey and wife Shirley of Potter, NE and Russell and wife Robin of Buford, GA; nine grandchildren Tony and wife Dana Kasten of Brighton, CO, Melissa and husband Branden Effland of Thornton, CO, Sheila and husband Ryan Stadler of Brighton, CO, Michelle and husband Larkin Gentry of Sugarland, TX, Trisha and husband Nathan McKinney of Evans, CO, Nicole and husband Jeffrey Halvorsen of Axtell, NE, Samantha and husband Craig Patzel of Waverly, NE, Hailey and husband Tyler Stanley of Dacula, GA, Connor and wife Ashlyn Kasten of Knoxville, TN; three brothers Harold of Sidney, NE, David and wife Carolyn of Fremont, NE and Richard and wife Gloria of Sidney, NE; one sister Naomi Winn of Litchfield Park, AZ; one brother-in-law Arlen and wife Mary Ann Kasten of Potter, NE; one sister-in-law Lucille Roth of Steelville, IL, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, daughter Valerie Kasten, brother Robert Fiegenschuh and sister Donna Mayer.
