Kimball Boys Fall To Mitchell Before Subdistrict

The Kimball Longhorn boys basketball team continued its search for wins this season with its second matchup of the year against Mitchell last Friday, and the result was similar to the first game they played in the beginning of the month. Similar, as in a big loss for the visiting Longhorns.

The Tigers came out firing in the first period, putting up 19 points while their defense disrupted and bottled up the Longhorn offense. The Tigers continued to score while the Longhorns went cold, and the Mitchell boys held a huge 40-12 lead at the halftime intermission. In the second half, Mitchell continued to score, triggering the running clock and coasted to a 74-27 victory.

Senior Cole Henton had 11 points and 7 rebounds in the game for the Horns, including going three for four from beyond the 3-point arc.

Kimball was scheduled to face number one seed Bridgeport in the first round of the C2-12 Subdistrict Tournament on Tuesday at Bridgeport High School.
