Winter Arrives All At Once, Shuts Down The Burg

Banner County

Good morning and I hope you are enjoying the heat wave!

This past weekend we were given our “winter” season all at once as our entire area and quite a ways beyond was hit with blizzard conditions and lots of snow and cold. Everything here in the Burg was shut down.

Needless to say the senior sneakers did not sneak. The time change was not cancelled, however, so we had one hour less of bad weather. I have very little to report because everything is postponed or cancelled, or currently closed.

However, the winter farmers market is still scheduled for Saturday March 20th at the Monument Mall from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in Scottsbluff, and two of the school speech team members will be traveling to state speech in Lincoln on Friday, the 19th. Good luck and safe travel to you.

Friday will be a regular day of school and as of this time there will be no school on Monday, the 22nd. Since they missed this past Monday, that may change.

Track practice is about to begin, spring season ya know.

Here are birthdays this week: Joel Cross, Pat Mooney, Ryan Olsen, Kyla Ansley, Josh Boston, Matthew Hein, Kort Boettcher, Clyde Mount, Carmen Brown, and Giselle Hobby. Happy Happy Birthday!

I want you all to take care, stay safe and warm for this week and I will leave you with this Irish Blessing:

“Always remember to forget the things that made you sad. But never forget to remember the things that made you glad. Always remember to forget the friends that proved untrue. But never forget to remember those that have stuck by you. Always remember to forget The troubles that passed away. But never forget to remember the blessings that come each day.”
