Carol L. Dunegan

Carol L. Dunegan, 81, of Kimball, died at Kimball Health Services on Thursday, May 6, 2021. Cremation has taken place and graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021, at the Kimball Cemetery with Eastern Star Services conducted by Liz Ferguson and Jack Rahl.

Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to view Carol's Tribute Wall and leave condolences and stories for the family. Memorials may be given in Carol's memory to either the James L. Eatmon Masonic Lodge or the Kimball Hospital Foundation. The services for Carol have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Carol LaRae Dunegan was born in Jefferson City, Missouri on May 13, 1939, the daughter of Fay and LaVeran (Turner) Wenger. She moved with her family at an early age to Great Bend, Kansas, and she graduated from high school in 1957.

Carol was married to Patrick Anthony Dunegan in September of 1957. They moved to Kimball in 1959 and Carol worked at several businesses, including GRI, Avon, Wig's Transfer and United Telephone. She later owned and operated Mode O Day, Country Carpet and Decoration, and the Kimball Mini Mall. She then worked for Cabela's for over 20 in their customer service department. She received a sales award while she owned the Mode O Day Store in Kimball.

Carol also enjoyed painting, spending time with and spoiling her grandkids.

Survivors include her sons Kelly (Mary) of Kimball, NE., and Casey (Karen) of Lincoln, NE; daughter Shannon (Ernie) Klemt of Kimball, NE; brother Bobby Wenger of Osage Beach, MO; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
