Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Potter-Dix's Coyote Track and Field team traveled to Chappell last Wednesday to compete in the District D-9 Meet, and the Coyotes qualified seven athletes to travel to the State Meet in Omaha on Friday and Saturday.
Sophomore Luke Kasten and junior Thomas Muldoon both qualified in three different events at the end of the competition. Kasten qualified in the 100 Meters, High Jump and the 4x800 Meter Relay by placing second in the 100 Meters, second in the High Jump and second with the 4x800 Meter Relay Team.
Muldoon qualified in the 800 Meters, High Jump and 4x800 Meter Relay by winning the 800 Meters, winning the High Jump and placing second with the 4x800 Meter Relay Team.
Junior Jared Anton won the Pole Vault to qualify for State and sophomore Ben Johnson placed third in the 200 Meters with a personal best time of 23.81, qualifying him for State. Freshman Brayden Kasten and sophomore Zach Rotert also qualified as members of the 4x800 Meter Relay team.
Sophomore Jayden Shoemaker was the lone girls' qualifier, winning the High Jump to punch her ticket to the State Meet.
In boys team standings at District, Leyton won with 161 points and P-D was third at 83. For the girls, Crawford won with 103 and Potter-Dix was 10th with 20.
The NSAA State Meet will be at Omaha Burke Stadium this Friday and Saturday.
