Combines & Semis All Over Banner

Banner County

Good morning Banner County! The combines and semis have been in and out and all over Harrisburg and Banner for the past week. We have been very fortunate  with our weather so far and hopefully most wheat will be finished up soon.

If anyone has the time Cheyenne Frontier Days is happening beginning on July 23, this Friday, and will continue through August 1st. Most of us have grown up going there for concerts, rodeos, exhibits and shopping over the years and missed it last year due to COVID.

Bands on Broadway will perform at the 18th Street Plaza between 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, July 22nd, and if you are up around Chadron Bands on Bordeaux will take place in Railroad Park, same date, same hours.

Also on tap for this week is the performance of " Almost Maine" at the Judy Chaloupka Theater at 7:30 p.m., NWCC, on Friday, July 23rd.  Tickets are available at 635-3192.

The Scottsbluff Farmers Market will run from 8-11 a.m. on Saturday, July 24th at the 18th Street Plaza.

It is time for county fairs and up in Gordon the Sheridan County Fair & Rodeo will be held July 23rd to August 1st and the Cheyenne County Fair & Rodeo will begin on the 25th and continue through the 31st in Sidney.

As a part of the Theater West Summer Repertory TOFY Performance, Disney "Frozen Jr." will be performed at the Judy Chaloupka Theater, WNCC at 2 p.m. on the 24th & 25th. Tickets are available at 635-3192.

An interesting week is planned at the Scottsbluff County Extension, Office where they are inviting youngsters in grades 6-8 to join them for Youth Arise Games for Change. This will be held July 26-30th and involve the opportunity to make changes, information from local leaders and state officials, and the Minecraft game platform. Contact the Extension Office for more information.

Here this week we have had VBS at the Harrisburg Community Church. Approximately 20 kids have been enjoying learning with the theme " Rocky Railroad." The church was filled with two locomotives, railroad tracks and railroad crossing signs. There was also camping equipment, animals, a waterfall and ticket booth. How exciting!

Birthdays here this week include: J.T.Evans, T.J. Grubbs, Kaylee Bohnsack, Nancy Olsen, Lindsey Krager, Richard Parker, Brett Cooper, Orion Griffiths, Quinn Elsen, Judy Morris, Kerry Elsen and Henry Evans Groves. Happy Happy Birthday!
