Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Union Pacific built the steam locomotive Big Boy No. 4014, in the 1940s. Eighty-one years later, it left Cheyenne on a 10-state tour, stopping in Kimball on Thursday. The Big Boy was built to cross the Wasatch Mountain Range east of Ogden, Utah, thus carrying equipment to support World War II. This photo was taken just east of Kimball.
