Loran F. Kramer

Loran F. Kramer, 78, of Kimball died at his home on Monday, October 4, 2021. Following Loran's wishes, cremation has been held and memorial services will be held at a later date. Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to leave condolences and stories for the family. Memorials may be given to the Kimball Volunteer Fire Department or Regional West Hospice. The services for Loran have been entrusted to Cantrell Funeral Home.

Loran Fredrick Kramer was born in Newman Grove, NE, on Sept. 23, 1943, the son of Fredrick Wilhelm and Dagny Hildegard (Turmo) Kramer. He received his education in Newman Grove and joined the U.S. Army in July 1961. He was discharged in October 1962, then lived and worked in Omaha. He married Peggy Pierce on March 23, 1964, in Lake Manawa, IA. They lived in Omaha, where Loran worked at SS White Dental Co. and the 7-Up Bottle Co. Loran and Peggy moved to Kimball in 1974 where Loran worked various jobs, including at the Kimball County Co-Op, the Dix grain elevator, Kimball High School, and the Kimball County Court House. He retired from Waste Tech in 1996.

Loran was an EMT, an Honorary Member of the Kimball Volunteer Fire Department, and served on the Kimball-Banner County Rodeo Committee. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and playing pool at The Corner Bar. Loran loved working on puzzles, joining the noon group of the Golf Shriners, and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Loran is survived by his wife Peggy of Kimball; sons Kevin (Kelley) Kramer of Cumming, GA, and Randy of Seattle, WA; daughter Robin Williams of Lincoln, NE; sisters Helen Hollis of Newman Grove, NE, Ruth (Lance) Holthusen of Brooklyn Park, MN, and Dorothy (Loren) Wright of Omaha, NE; and grandchildren Isis, Orion and Jaxson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Carolyn Kramer, Lois Klassen, and Kathy Shotkoski, and brothers Bob, Alan, Arnold, Kenneth and Donald.
