Lady Longhorns Open WTC Thursday

This week we start WTC play with Gordon-Rushville in the 1st Round. We play Thursday night at Gordon at 6. We are hoping to learn from our last game with them and upset the Mustangs.

The WTC tournament follows a week in which Kimball played four games. Here's a look at those games.

Mitchell 56,

Kimball 30

Our girls had a very long week. We played 4 games this week, 7 total in the last 2 weeks, and our legs showed it at the end of the week. Our first matchup was against Mitchell. We had high hopes for an upset but we were not able to capitalize on any mistakes by Mitchell and they capitalized on ours significantly.

Banner County 9

We played Banner County on Thursday and although we got off to a slow and turnover ridden start, we came away with a win. I gave a lot of girls playing time that sometimes don't see the court that much in varsity, so we were happy we could have a full team effort.

Sutherland 46,

Kimball 35

We played Sutherland Friday in a packed gym. I cannot thank the community enough for showing up for the players of Kimball High School. I had the privilege of playing in front of huge crowds when I played, and I so want that for our kids. They got to experience how loud their home court can truly get.  It was an even game after 2 quarters. We made many mistakes in the third quarter and they out scored us 16-7. We fought hard in the fourth but unfortunately it was a little too late.

Kimball 17

Our final game was against the toughest competition of the week and it showed. North Platte St. Pats was a tough game to end our week on. Our legs were tired, but we continued to fight til the end.
