Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
We traveled to Gordon for WTC first round action in a game against Gordon-Rushville. We had a solid game plan going into this game but unfortunately we could not convert our shots and lost 50-20.
My girls did everything I asked of them but we really struggled to put the ball through the hoop, Gordon is a great team, and they don't miss often.
Our defense did a great job rotating but when offense isn't flowing well, it's hard to keep pace with a good team.
Here are our statistics from the game:
Chantel Malson 3 pts, 4 reb
Payton Wise 3 pts, 6 reb
Maddison Merryfield 4 pts 6 reb
Katie Heeg 6 pts 6 reb
Amy Birkhofer 4 pts 4 reb
Emma Patterson 2 reb
Grace Anderson 1 reb
Kimball is now 7-12 on the season sits in fourth place with an 0-3 record in C2 District 11.
We travel to Pine Bluffs on Tuesday, Feb. 8, to take on the Hornets. I suspect it will be a physical game as it always is when we travel to Pine. The Lady Longhorns are up for the challenge and hungry for a win.
On Friday, we take on Hemingford at home and it is senior night for my six seniors. I hope the gym will be full in support of these young women, who have dedicated years to this school and program. They deserve it!
We open up Subdistrict action next Tuesday.
