Cats Open Season

The Banner County Wildcats opened their track season last Saturday at the Morrill Early Bird 22 meet.

On the boys side, freshman Kristian Clure kept busy. He finished 16th in the 100 meters in 12.89 seconds, 15th in the 200 meters in 26.02 and 25th in the long jump with 12 feet, 5 inches.

For the Lady Wildcats, several team members competed. Here are the top finishers for them in each of their events:

100 meters prelim: 22, Montelongo Amanda, 17.79

200 meters prelim: 23, Karleigh Leslie, 33.59

1600 meters: 13, Makyla Mason, 7:09.52

3200 meters: 7, Makyla Mason, 14:47.89

100 meter hurdles: 12, Riley Jones, 20.22

300 meter hurdles: 8, Riley Jones, 54.55

Discus: 27, Karleigh Leslie, 61-3

High jump: 10, Riley Jones, 4-4

Long jump: 13, Riley Jones, 12-11

Next up for the Wildcats is the Bayard Invitational this Saturday, April 2.
