Trap Team Takes Aim At State; 10 Qualify For Nationals

The Kimball Longhorns trap team continues to be active in anticipation of trips to state and nationals.

This Saturday, 26 Kimball individuals will shoot for state scores along with eight shooters from Potter. They will each shoot 100 rounds. The teams will shoot in Sidney and then submit scores to be calculated with the other teams in the state.

Jarrett Schutz was awarded All-State trap honors due to his outstanding season average of 20.3 out of a perfect score of 25.

National trap shooting is in Mason, Michigan, during July, and Kimball qualified 10 individuals – but due to other commitments, only five are able to attend the tournament.

Attending Nationals will be Justin Klosterman, Nolan Cook, James McGinnis, Kambree Hottell and Cameron McGinnis. These five will shoot as a team on July 8, then shoot individually on the 9th. Each one will shoot 100 rounds for each competition.

The following individuals also qualified for Nationals, but because of other commitments, they were unable to attend: Trenton Hottell, Charlotte Hargreaves, Grace Anderson, Aaron Gillming and Jarrett Schutz.

Potter’s Dawsen Monheiser also will be going to Nationals.
