Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
The Kimball Concert Association has announced the kickoff of its membership campaign for the 2022-23 concert season. The association has also released names of concert appearances for the season.
In a bold move, the Kimball Concert Association has decided to make student memberships free for the 2022-23 concert season. The action encourages youth to attend the four concerts and be exposed to various music and performances.
Concert tickets can be purchased at the Kimball Public Library as well as from individuals. To purchase tickets, contact Donna Linn at 308-235-2256, Susie Abramson at 308-235-6927 or Karen Morrison at 308-235-3229.
Adult memberships are $40, which includes all four concerts, and business sponsorships are $375. Due to the free membership of students, there will be no family tickets offered this year.
All of the concerts are at 7 p.m. at the Harry McNees Auditorium at the Kimball Jr/Sr High School.
Four concert performances have been announced beginning Sept. 27 with Backtrack Vocals – a 5-person a cappella group that sings Top 40, Motown, classical, show tunes and original music.
On Nov. 4, pianist David Osborne will perform classical, romantic music, Broadway and pop tunes.
The Travis Anderson Trio performs a modern twist to classic jazz and pops favorites on Jan. 30.
Finally, Forever Simon and Garfunkel is scheduled for April 26. This duo will perform hits like “Sounds of Silence,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Cecilia,” “Feeling Groovy” and many more from the rock ‘n’ roll duo.
