'Tea at Three' A Hit At New Hope

Saturday found the youngsters, young and old, at New Hope Assembly of God Church, hosting what they hope will be an annual event. "Tea at Three" was filled with many giggles and a whole array of women volunteers being excited for the youth of New Hope to model their outfits.

The women's quest was to challenge the girls to find an outfit with accessories as well as purchase a teacup for the upcoming Tea Party at New Hope. These were not just any "Ordinary" outfits!

The day began with a quick trip to Nebraska Coffee, and then the group loaded up in the ever-faithful church bus for the trip to Sidney. The girls also were treated to lunch and ice cream during their big day of shopping!

This adventure started by giving each girl $20 to buy a complete outfit while visiting a few different thrift stores in Sidney. While they busily shopped, the girls were amazed at how they could stretch their money for other clothing options.

Due to some very kind women at one thrift store, the girls were able to get jewelry and shoes to match their outfits.

Once the outfits were bought, there had to be an alteration night, so the outfits fit the girls properly. Time was donated for this task, as well as all the hair, makeup, nails, pedicures and a homemade lunch by the Women's Ministry from the church. It was their way of blessing the young girls and making it a beautiful and wonderful day for them.

After the actual fashion show and the modeling of the girls' attire, participants from all over Kimball and surrounding communities were hosted to a Tea Party with many of the usual High Tea Delights.

All in all, it was a delightful day, and there are already plans to possibly Host this great event again next fall.
