Talking Turkey, Talking The Burg; Plans In Works For Dinner Theater

Good morning Banner County! Happy Thanksgiving to each and all. Here is hoping that you all spend this day with family and friends and eat too much.

The Guadalupe Center will be hosting its 39th Thanksgiving in the Valley meal Today, Thursday, November 24th. They will serve between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and are located at 1200 E. 9th street in Scottsbluff.

There will also be a free meal today in Morrill between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The location is 117 Center Avenue.

Everyone is welcome to both, or either, dinners.

On Saturday the 26th there will be a Holiday Bazaar at the Rendezvous Center, at the Torrington Fairgrounds. They will open the doors at 9:30 a.m. and close down when that time comes. Just get there early!

The Midwest Theater will be showing “Ticket to Paradise” on Friday & Saturday, the 25th & 26th, at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday as a matinee at 1:30 p.m.

Santa’s Village will open on the 25th in Gering and they will have their annual Christmas parade that evening at 6 p.m. The Christmas parade in Scottsbluff will be on Sunday the 27th, also at 6 p.m.

Our kids here at home will be on Thanksgiving break from the 25th through the 27th. When they return on the 28th, the junior high wrestling team will be heading to the mats in Bayard at 9:30 a.m. Dental exams will be offered to students pre-K to 1st. grade on Tuesday the 29th. This also includes sealants.

On Wednesday the One Act students will be on their way to Chappell for their second performance.

Plans are in the making for a Dinner Theater this year, sometime in December. Safe travel and good luck to all of you.

Speaking of being safe, thankfully the boiler issue at the school last week was taken care of without any serious damage to persons or animals. Especially bad time to have anything like that happen with such cold weather.

The Harvest Dinner at the Harrisburg Community Church was well attended last Sunday evening with lots of food, conversation and entertainment from an ensemble from the Frontier Bible School choir.
