Sherry L. Acheson, 74, of Kimball, died in Cheyenne on Monday, November 14, 2022. Memorial services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022 at the Kimball Presbyterian Church with Pastor Alan Foutz officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to leave condolences and stories for the family. Memorials may be given to the Nebraska State FFA Scholarship Fund. The services for Sherry have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.
Sherry Lynn Acheson was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on September 20, 1948, the daughter of Donald and Marjorie (Albro) Jessen. She grew up and lived in Cheyenne, WY graduating from East High School in 1967.
Upon graduation from High School, Sherry enrolled at the University of Wyoming, where she met her husband Dan and was married on September 4, 1968. Dan and Sherry lived in Kimball where she worked as an office administrator for several businesses in the community. Later in life, Sherry went back to the University of Wyoming and completed her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration which led her to LCCC in Cheyenne as the Outreach Coordinator for 18 years.
Growing up, Sherry was an avid swimmer, enjoyed playing golf, and being outdoors. During her time in Kimball, Sherry was active in the Eastern Star as a 50-year member and was a member of the Grand Family of Nebraska. Sherry also enjoyed helping with the Kimball 4-H and was a life member of the Nebraska FFA Alumni. She took pleasure in gardening, planting flowers in the spring, and being involved in activities with her family around their farm.
Survivors include her husband Dan Acheson of Kimball, NE; sons David (Sarah) Acheson of Raleigh, NC and Dean (Nicole) Acheson of Overland Park, KS; daughter Danell Marks of Kimball, NE; brother Dennis (Tina) Jessen of Cheyenne, WY; and (9) grandchildren – Alex, Emma, Molly, Ethan, Taylor, Ashlyn, Amanda, Hannah and Shannen.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
