P-D'S Dale Frerichs To Coach West In All-Star Game

SCOTTSBLUFF – Coaches have been selected for the 2023 West Nebraska All-Star Football Game – and for anyone who followed Panhandle football this past season, it should be no surprise that Potter-Dix's top Coyote will be on the scene.

Dale Frerichs from Potter-Dix will lead the West team. Assisting him will be Dillon Broussard (Mitchell), Danny O'Boyle (Gering) and Jeremy Reimers (Bridgeport).

Jeff Gross from McCook will lead the East team. Assisting Coach Gross will be Kurt Alitg (North Platte), Jake McLain (Holdrege) and Joe Vertrovsky (McCook).

This marks the 45th year for the West Nebraska All-Star Football.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit local organizations.

Meanwhile, several Potter-Dix Coyotes football standouts were selected to the D6 All-District/All-Conference team after finishing their season with a 9-1 record.

Junior Brayden Kasten was named to the First Team All-District/All-Conference Team on Offense. He completed 71 of 100 passes for 880 yards and 19 touchdowns on the season. He also rushed 39 times for 544 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Senior Alex Anton was named to the First Team All-District/All-Conference Team on Offense. He caught 14 passes for 247 yards and 7 touchdowns on the season.

Junior Caden McConnell was named to the First Team All-District/All-Conference Team on Offense. He had 17 receptions for 205 yards and 7 touchdowns on the season.

Senior Luke Kasten was named to the First Team All-District/All-Conference Team on Defense. He had 88 total tackles with 43 tackles for loss on the season.

Senior Zachary Rotert was named to the First Team All-District/All-Conference Team on Defense. He had 51 total tackles and 8 tackles for loss on the season. He also brought down two interceptions.

Junior Jaxen Buettenback was named to the First Team All-District/All-Conference Team on Defense. He had 73 total tackles and 22 tackles for loss on the season.

All-District Players

In volleyball, standouts on the 23-9 Potter-Dix Lady Coyotes were selected for D2 All-Conference Honors. Seniors Jayden Shoemaker and Kallie Crossman were named to the D2 All-Conference Second Team for the 2022-23 season.

Shoemaker led the Lady Coyote attack with 129 kills and 35 ace serves on the season.

Crossman conducted the offense with 427 assists and had 20 ace serves on the season.

Senior Lily Tabor and junior Madison Williamson received honorable mention. Tabor had 104 kills and 211 digs, while Williamson had 46 ace serves 26 total blocks on the year.
