Wrestlers Wrapping Up First Semester Schedule

McGinnis And Schindler Place First, Kauffman Second, At St. Pats Invitational

The Kimball Longhorn wrestlers will return to action Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Sutherland Invitational to finish up their first semester schedule.

The competition follows some strong individual showings for the Horns at the St. Pats Invite and a trip to Cheyenne for the Charlie Lake Invite. Here are Kimball's results at these two events.

St. Pats

Invitational

The Longhorns traveled to North Platte on Friday, Dec. 9, to compete in the St. Pats Invitational. The Longhorns placed sixth out of nine teams, scoring 121 team points. North Platte JV won the tournament with 231 team points.

James McGinnis continued his senior campaign in style, going 5-0 and placing first on the day. Trey Schindler got his senior season started this week with a dominant 5-0 day and placing first. Derek Kauffman had a solid day to finish in second place.

Cody Brinkman finished in fourth place, going 1-4, and Peter Russell wrestled hard but finished the day 0-5.

Charlie Lake

Invitational

The Longhorns traveled to Cheyenne to compete on Saturday, Dec.10. The Charlie Lake Invite hosted by Cheyenne East High School is the toughest tournament on our schedule.

The boys wrestled hard but did not place in the tournament. James McGinnis, Trey Schindler, and Derek Kauffman went 1-2 on the day.

Cody Brinkman and Peter Russell competed in the JV tournament. They both went 0-3.
