Kimball Wrestlers Also Enjoy Victorious Dual Against Burns/Pine Bluffs

The Longhorn wrestling team finished out its regular season on Tuesday, Jan. 31, with a home dual against Burns/Pine Bluff. There were 4 matches wrestled and the Longhorns won the dual 24-0. All 4 Longhorn wrestlers won their matches by pin fall.

On Thursday, Feb. 2, the Longhorn wrestling team began their post season with the WTC/SPVA/MAC/PAC conference tournament.

The Longhorns finished in 7th place out of 19 schools with 65 points. The conference tournament was won by the defending Class D state champions Sutherland with 173 points.

Matthew Johnson finished in 3rd place at 106.

James McGinnis finished the conference champion at 132. He defeated a wrestler from Gordon/Rushville that he had lost to previously last season as well as this season to win the title.

Trey Schindler finished the conference champion at 152. He defeated a wrestler from Gordon/Rushville that he was previously 0-5 against over his career. The win was a considerable achievement because it was also Schindler's 100th career win.

Cody Brinkman was 0-2 on the day at 132.
