Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
The Dead Eye Shooters participated in the Nebraska State BB Gun and Air Rifle Match in Beatrice over the weekend and had top-notch results.
Placing second in the state in BB Gun was the team of Anna Coleman, Sophie Coleman, Jalanna Krakow, Karsyn Chesley, and Nolan Cook. This team qualified for the Daisy National BB Gun Competition in Rogers, Arkansas.
The Sporter Air Rifle team placed third. This team included Julia Winstrom, Karsyn Chesley, Nolan Cook, and Chris Foster.
BB Gun results are as follows:
In the 8-year-old division, Noah Hinton placed fourth, Jalanna Krakow shot her way into third place in the 9- and 10-year-old division with fellow Dead Eye shooters Tallyn Chesley in 10th, Nash Burback 17th, and Ty Cook 22nd.
In the 13- to 15-year-old division, Karsyn Chesley was eighth, Anna Coleman 19th, Sophie Coleman 13th (and was the top placer in the kneeling division), Nolan Cook 21st, Ainslie Hottell 26th, Kody Carpenter 28th, and Lane Cook 35th.
In Sporter Air Rifle, the 13- and 14-year-old old division has Karsyn Chesley in 6th place, Ainslie Hottell 13th, Kody Carpenter 19th and Lane Cook 21st.
Shooting in the 15- to 18-year-old group was Julia Winstrom. Experience paid off for Winstrom as she took second place, and Chris Foster placed 13th.
Rounding out the competition was Precision Air Rifle. In the 13- and 14-year-old group, Karsyn Chesley was 11th and Kody Carpenter 13th. In the 15- to 18-year-old division, Julia Winstrom was second, and Chris Foster shot his way to sixth place.
