Good morning, through gloomy skies wanting snow, off to another week we go.
Here we are in the last week of March and heading into April, already! My how the time does fly, whether we are having fun or not. However, try for the “fun” if at all possible.
That’s what some of these events encourage over the next few days.
The folks at Zion Evangelical Church in Scottsbluff will have their annual “Coffee and Grebel” sale on Saturday, April 1st. Pre- order by noon on March 31st by calling 632-8125. Pickup will be on the 1st between 8-10 a.m.
The High Plains Auto Club will have the first of the 2023 seasons Cruise Nights on Saturday April 1st. They will meet at the Dairy Queen at 5 p.m. and begin the cruise at 6 p.m.
Sunday afternoon the Alliance Eagles invite you to join them for a Country Music Jamboree. There is no cover charge and they will play between 1 and 4 p.m.
Movie entertainment at the Midwest Theater, March 31st at 7:30 p.m., is the movie “80 for Brady” rated PG, then again on April 1st at 6:30 p.m. and on the 2nd. at 1:30 p.m.
Also on April 1st at 2 p.m. “Marda’s Gift” will play at 2 p.m. Haven’t seen this one, but I will give you a hint as to what her gift is; it has something to do with the oven.
Back to the work week, Monday, April 3rd, there will be free Spotter Training (clouds and dangerous weather) program at Bridgeport. This will begin at 6 p.m. at the Prairie Winds Community Center. Everyone is invited to attend.
Spring musicals will be here soon and ticket sales for the Scottsbluff High School production of “The Sound of Music” can be found at http://www.ronne.com.
Here at home we have track, lots of track and the state FFA convention is finishing up on the 30th & 31st in Lincoln.
As far as the track schedule, April 1st will find the high school team in Bayard for a class C-D meet, which will begin at 9 a.m. and on the 3rd they will travel to Chappell for a tri-meet, which will begin at 8:30 a.m.
On Wednesday, April 5th, the junior high team will head to Leyton and begin competition at 9 a.m. Good luck and safe travel to all of you.
There will be NO School for students on Friday, March 31st, and then everyone will have some time off for Easter Break, April 6th to 10th!
Easter this year will be on Sunday, April 9th.
