New City Clerk On The Job

Paula Tarnago Says 'We Can Do Great Things'

The Observer interviewed Paula Tarnago on Tuesday, her second day as Kimball city clerk. Tarnago said she was "excited to make this my long term home."

Tarnago was recently hired to replace Kim Barnwell, who is moving. The City Council approved the appointment at the Tuesday evening meeting.

Tarnago said she is settling into her new position and "looking forward to being a part of this family." She explained that "I like to learn new things, I like challenges, and I love helping people. I understand it is going to be a big learning curve, but I know that I have the support that I need. If we all work as a team and work together, I truly feel that we can do great things."

Tarnago and her husband, Roy, moved to Kimball from Wellington, Colorado, about four years ago with their three sons Sergio, Roy and Aryan. Her husband has a landscaping and sprinkler system business, while Sergio is a deputy with the Kimball County Sheriff's Office, Roy is a welder in the oilfield, and Aryan is 6 years old.
