Cynthia D. Thacker, 69, of Kimball, died in Aurora, Colorado on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. Cremation has been held and Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Kimball with Pastor Lorri Kentner officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to view her Tribute Wall and leave condolences and stories for the family. Memorials may be given in her memory to the family, to be designated at a later date. The services for Cindy have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.
Cynthia Doris Thacker was born in Grand Rapids, Minnesota on April 20, 1953, the daughter of Robert and Patricia (Reams) Box. As a young girl, her family moved to Kimball in 1962 where she attended and graduated from Kimball County High School in 1972.
Cindy married William John Thacker, Jr. on July 1, 1972. She lived in many places throughout the United States while John served in the U.S. Army.
After John was discharged, they moved back to Kimball in 1975. She worked many different jobs including managing the Charco Grill, GRI, Security at Clean Harbors, and Cabela's with her most recent employment working for Sandhills Publishing at the time of her death.
The most important thing to Cindy was her family. Cindy and her family loved camping at Red Feather Lakes in Colorado when her children were younger. Cindy's children and grandchildren were everything to her and she was involved in every aspect of their lives.
She treasured holidays when she could spend time with her family. Her favorite gatherings were Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Cindy also cherished time spent on trips she had taken with her brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband, John Thacker of Kimball; son, Brian Thacker of Kimball; daughters, Tanya (Chuck) Frakes of Kimball, NE., and Heather (Jesse) Williamson of Dix, NE; brothers Bob (Sharon) Box of Northglenn, CO., and John (Connie) Box of Strasburg, CO; sisters Laurel (John) Southard of Tacoma, WA., and Robyn (Jim) Hughes of Tucson, AZ; father-in-law William John Thacker, Sr .; grandchildren Makayla, Kylie, Madison, Payton, Hayden, Shayla and Renea; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and Grandson Conner Thacker.
