Mitchell Next For Horns After WTC, Creek Valley Meets

The Kimball boys and girls track teams travel to Mitchell on Friday, April 21, after competing at the WTC meet in Bayard on April 15 and the Tri-State meet at Creek Valley in Chappell on April 17.

Next week, it's the Best of the West at Scottsbluff on Aril 25.

Here are some Longhorns highlights at the WTC and Creek Valley.

WTC Meet

On a windy and chilly day in Bayard, the boys placed sixth among seven teams with 31 points, and Mitchell was first with 132.

The girls were seventh among seven teams with 16 points, and Bridgeport was first with 123.

Braylon Miller placed fourth in the 1,600 meters and third in the 3,200 meters.

Trenton Hottell placed sixth in the 110 meter hurdles.

The 4x100 team (Ryker Behrends, Jacob Wendt, James McGinnis and Noe Trevino) placed fifth.

The 4x400 team (Wendt, Behrends, Trevor Fuss, and Xavier Thomas-Lewis) placed fifth.

Wyatt Cords was fourth in discus.

In pole vault, Peter Russell was third, and McGinnis and Fuss tied for fourth and fifth.

The 4x100 team (Emma Novotny, Jade O'Rourke, Addisyn Olson, and Julia Winstrom) placed fifth.

The 4x400 team (Katie Kilgore, Grace Anderson, Jayden Paxton and Olson) placed sixth.

Paxton was third in high jump and sixth in long jump.

Olson was third in triple jump.

Tri-State Meet

On a beautiful spring day, North Platte St. Pats won the boys meet with 131.5 points and Potter-Dix was second with 88. Kimball was fourth at 70.5 and Banner County was ninth with 2.

North Platte St. Pats also won the girls meet with 128 points. Potter-Dix was fifth at 47, Kimball sixth at 45.5 and Banner County ninth with 18.

Kimball enjoyed lots of individual success and came home with several medals. Individual highlights will appear in next week's Observer.
