On Saturday, April 29 the folks at the Scottsbluff National Monument are having a volunteer clean-up in the badlands area, which is on the north side of the monument. This is in observation of National Park Week and more information is available at 436-9706. Volunteers are asked to meet at 10 a.m. and 13-17 year olds must be accompanied with an adult. You are asked to be able to lift up to 20 pounds, and hike 2 miles on steep and uneven terrain.
I was OK until they got to the steep and uneven terrain part. Bring your own water, but supplies and snacks will be provided. This is all weather permitting.
Also on that Saturday, the vet students at EWC will be hosting their annual "Dog Wash" at the veterinary technology building.
